Lauryn Hill is reportedly in trouble with the IRS after failing to file tax returns for the years 2005,2006 and 2007.

Contact Music reports the former Fugees (and Sister Act 2, c’mon how can you not lover her in that movie!) star is being pursued by a Federal Court in New Jersey for not filing tax returns between 2005 and 2007. She faces up to a year in prison and $300,000 in fines – although it’s likely that if she makes good now she could be spared from prison time..

The 37-year-old singer reportedly earned $1.6 million during the period in which she did not file. She’ll face a judge on June 29th.

Hill has been the subject of many raised eyebrows in recent years for strange behavior. Rohan Marley, who fathered five of her children left her last year after revelations that she was expecting a child with another man. He is now engaged to a model.

in 2007 Hill was sued for harassment and unpaid wages. The plaintiff, a guitarist in her band, claimed she would insult the band during the tour. The lawsuit alleged “Hill would demand that the musicians and road support personnel attend meetings where she would engage in a person-by-person critique and berating.”
