“Teen Mom” Star Amber Portwood Sentenced To Five Years In Jail

There is no joy in reporting the troubles of a person who’s gone down the wrong road. MTV’s “Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood is headed back behind bars after leaving her mandatory rehab sentence early.

The troubled “Teen Mom” star was sentenced to five years in prison. 

According to  TMZ, the sentence came down after her attorney asked an Indiana judge to reinstate her previous sentence stemming from a December drug arrest. Portwood was sentenced in February to three years in jail for possessing prescription drugs without a prescription, and another two years for a probation violation. At the time she avoided jail on a plea deal and instead pursued treatment at a rehab facility. But three months into the treatment, she left and opted to go to prison instead – Which goes to show how troubled she is.

While Portwood’s attorney asked for some compassion and leniency, the judge was reportedly unmoved and insisted he had no choice but to enforce the terms of Portwood’s plea agreement. Portwood could get credit for “good time” if she behaves in prison.
