VIDEO: MANY New DARK KNIGHT RISES Tidbits, Including the MTV Movie Awards New TV Spot

Warner Bros is now in full on promotion mode for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, and if what we saw last night is any indication, we have a lot to look forward to.

First and foremost, we give you the brand new exclusive footage and television spot played at last night’s MTV awards.  Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christian Bale took the stage to introduce a montage of all three of Batman’s adventures, causing an obviously emotional Bale to pause as he said, “”Great to remember Heath. Wonderful to see Heath Ledger there.”

The three then introduced the man behind it all, Christopher Nolan, who was greeted by a standing ovation as fans anxiously awaited to see the new material.

Excited much?

Before you go, also some other details:

1) AMC Theaters will begin selling tickets on June 11th at 12:00pm EDT for a “DARK KNIGHT Marathon” which will take place on July 19th. If you want to see BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT, and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES back in theaters again, here is your chance!

2) Also thanks to AMC, the run-time of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES clocks in at 2 hours and 45 minutes.  It may seem a little long, but something tells me that it’ll be worth it…

3) More than a third of the film was shot in IMAX

4) In a new interview with Empire Magazine (as per Batman News), David Goyer said that he and Nolan came up with the trilogy’s ending, before they even knew what the final film’s plot would be.  Goyer said that the ending they shot is exactly what they talked about 4 years ago, completely unchanged, and when he saw that final scene, it left a lump in his throat.

5) Also per Batman News, Nolan confirmed that The Joker will not be addressed at all in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, and Selina Kyle is never referred to as Catwoman in the script.  He was also nervous about putting Catwoman in the trilogy, but his brother Jonathan convinced him otherwise.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES opens everywhere July 20th.
