Thanks to the success of the first film installment of The Hunger Games, the last book in the trilogy is now being split into two films, premiering in November 2014 and 2015. The plan borrows the successful strategy employed by producers of the Harry Potter films, which also split the conclusion film into two features. Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the second installment, is due out on November 22, 2013.

Lionsgate films also revealed earlier this week that Philip Seymour Hoffman has been cast in a key role for the second movie, that of Plutarch Heavensbee, the head gamemaker in the story.
