Jon Bon Jovi Is AVON’s Latest Spokesperson. For Real.
I’m thinking they’re going for the Bon Jovi on the right.
Before you say “SAY WHAT?” it’s true. Avon announced Monday that Jon Bon Jovi is the latest new face of Avon. He’ll be promoting new fragrances: “Unplugged” for Her and “Unplugged” for Him. Here’s why it’s a good idea.
First, Bon Jovi, who is 50, is in a sweet spot for many Avon customers who are at or near his age. (I’m sorry if I made you feel old. But face it, 50 isn’t that old anymore.) Why is it good for Nob Jovi? More than likely, piles and piles of cash.
Avon says the inspiration for both scents is the unique feeling you get when listening to a favorite song. The female version of Unplugged is a floral oriental scent (not sure how that connects to your favorite song… unless it’s a tune from Flower Drum Song. The male version of Unplugged is floral and musky with woody overtones.
Both will be availabe in the fall.
