EXPENDABLES 2 Stars Express Their Sympathy Over Sly’s Loss
This past Friday, the cast of the highly anticipated EXPENDABLES 2 hit Los Angeles, ready for their West Coast press junket. But there was one man who was missing…
Star Sylvester Stallone, who is also the film’s writer, was noticeably absent from the affair. He hasn’t been seen in public since his 36-year-old son, Sage was found dead in his home last month. And the pain was definitely felt by his co-stars:
UFC champion Randy Couture said that while the crew misses Stallone, he’s where he needs to be:
“We miss him here. This is his gig…This is his thing and we’re all here because of him. So, we definitely miss him, but we understand…He’s where he needs to be right now.”
Terry Crews said that as a fellow father, strength doesn’t matter…he can’t imagine how Sly feels:
“Our hearts are with him. [Randy and I] both have kids — I can’t imagine [losing a child]. There are no words to that kind of pain, to have to go through something like that…He’s one of the toughest people I’ve ever met, ever known — a kind man — and our prayers and our hearts are with him.”
Stallone’s former ROCKY IV rival Dolph Lundgren said that while he hasn’t heard from him since the tragedy, there is nothing worse that could happen to a father:
“I haven’t spoken to him [since Sage passed], but it must be really rough…That’s the worst thing that can happen to somebody — to lose your kid.”
Jean-Claude Van Damme added “All my love to [Sly’s] family… it’s very personal. He’s a great guy.”
EXPENDABLES 2 hits theaters on August 17. No word on when Stallone will be seen again in public.
