Us Weekly is reporting that Nicki Minaj will soon be announced as the newest judge for the singing competition, with one source even saying that the singer is “100% confirmed”.
Neither FOX nor Minaj were available for comment, but TMZ is reporting that Mariah is very unhappy about the decision. Sources say that Carey believed she would be the only woman on the judge’s panel, and adding a singer who is more than 13 years her junior just added insult to injury.
Also rumored to be joining the judges’ table for the upcoming season is Nick Jonas, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias.
Season 12 of “American Idol” debuts this winter on FOX.
