Rihanna Speaks Out About Chris Brown, Says She Lost Her Best Friend
The relationship between Rihanna and Chris Brown has always been one to baffle fans. Whether they’re together, not together, friends or enemies, the question that usually comes to mind is what is Rihanna thinking when she keeps giving him chances?
Well now, we may be one step closer to understanding what has been going through the singer’s mind.
Oprah Winfrey sat down with the 24-year-old pop star for the latest entry of her OWN show, “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” When she asked about the physical attack on the night of the Grammys back in February of 2009, Rihanna started to tear up:
“It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. I lost my best friend.”
While the two might have reconciled since (rumors of a hook up floated around the blogosphere earlier this year), Rihanna says that after the split, she was in a bad place, saying “I was resentful. I held a grudge…I was dark.”
So what did Oprah have to say about the answers she received? It was something she never would have expected from what she had seen in the press:
“I thought she would have been kind of a bad-ass kind of a rocker hard-edge woman — nothing could have been farther from the truth…She was thoughtful. She was very emotional. She was vulnerable.”
To hear more about Rihanna’s journey around Chris Brown, tune into “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 9 p.m. on OWN.
We were just wondering how she would feel if he had lost his foot up her behind.
