New information is surfacing on the death of a LONE RANGER crew member who died on set last week.

TMZ is reporting that the victim has been identified as one Mike Bridger, a welder and water safety guy who had more than 20 years in the business.

Bridger was not just any welder, however.  Sources for the site say that director Jerry Bruckheimer respected Bridger’s work so much on their first film together (the first PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN), he hired him for every PIRATES after as well as LONE RANGER.

Bridger was working in a large water tank on THE LONE RANGER set when fellow crew members noticed that no air was coming up to the surface.  His family says that they do not blame the production company for his death, and believes he died of a heart attack. He was 48 years old.
