Emmy Winner Aaron Paul Has a NEED FOR SPEED

"Breaking Bad' star Aaron Paul has signed on to DreamWorks video game adaptation NEED FOR SPEED.

Movies based on video games are almost never very good. In fact, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the best critical success for a video game based movie was (I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M SAYING THIS) FINAL FANTASY: SPIRITS WITHIN which was only 43% liked by critics and a movie I didn’t particularly enjoy.

So DreamWorks is trying to break the mold with popular video game series NEED FOR SPEED. According to Entertainment Weekly, the first step was casting red hot Emmy award winner Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”, SMASHED). Paul who has become insanely popular from “Breaking Bad”, looks to keep his star on the rise. Paul will be working with Director Scott Waugh (ACT OF VALOR) and writers George and John Gatins (REAL STEEL). Waugh and the Gatins brothers have been working on this film for a little while now, and Paul is the only actor officially attached.

The plot will be kept a secret for a while, especially as they finish the casting. It is unclear what direction the film will go in, the NEED FOR SPEED series has plenty of games that take players in car chases with cops, and drag races all over cities, and working as undercover cops, so a lot like THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS.  DreamWorks expects to have a NEED FOR SPEED movie for you February 2013, but will need to announce a full cast and a start date before the end of the year.
