OOPS: Romney Blimp Crash Lands In Largely Democratic Florida Neighborhood

It's hard to ignore that this intro begs for something something irony, something something hot air, something. I'm not editorializing, but no matter whose side you're on, you have to admit this would be embarrassing.

A blimp displaying an ad for Republican Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign made an emergency landing Sunday in Broward County, Florida – a strongly democratic neighborhood.

The craft was emblazoned with Romney’s face and the slogan “America Needs Romney.”  But strong when the pilot tried to go east, strong winds pushed it west.  The pilot knew that he wasn’t going to make it in his intended direction without problems and was forced to land abruptly.

“He [the pilot] just knew he wasn’t going to make it,” Engle said. He then landed it in a housing development. There’s an investigation to get more specifics, but that’s about the size of it.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. And the campaigns go on!
