Chevy Chase is Leaving “Community”
It looks like old feuds are finally catching up to Chevy Chase and “Community”.
Deadline is reporting that after almost four full seasons, Chase has decided to officially leave the NBC comedy.
A rep for Sony TV has confirmed that the actor and the show’s producer have come to a mutual agreement that will allow Chase to leave without even having to finish out the current year. So while Pierce Hawthorne will appear for at least 11 of the upcoming 13 episodes, he will not be seen in at least the last two that have yet to be shot.
Chase’s history with the show is a tumultuous one that includes multiple blow ups and a fight with former show runner Dan Harmon. In a past interview with the Huffington Post U.K., Chase said, “It was a big mistake [taking the role]! I just sort of hung around because I have three daughters and a wife, and I figured out I might as well make some bread every week, so I can take care of them in the way they want.”
Community will return next February for its fourth season on NBC.
