Lindsay Lohan Responds to Cancelling Barbara Walters Interview

Barbara Walters may still be annoyed about Lindsay Lohan cancelling on her last week, but according to Lindsay, the switch over to Jay Leno was nothing personal…it just had to do with timing.

Lohan appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” last night—her first real sit down interview since all her troubles came to an end—to discuss her upcoming film LIZ & DICK.  Among the first topics addressed was her ditching of the interview queen:

“You know, it’s just the timing wasn’t right, right now…I’m a big fan of Barbara Walters. I met her when I was very young. So when it’s right, she knows she’ll be the first person I sit down with.”

Apparently not wanting to get into much detail about her family life either, Lohan tried to keep her personal issues light and short.  When asked about the new confirmation that her father, Michael Lohan, had another child, her response was a short, “I guess I could give her one word of advice — good luck with my dad.”  As for her decision to not talk to her father anymore, Lindsay merely said, “It is what it is.”

I was very sad to hear that Lohan cancelled on Walters.  While Leno is a respected late night host, there was no real depth on any of his questions last night.  If Lindsay had stuck around and answered truthfully, showing that she wanted to get back to work, it could have been a complete turning point for her…at least with gaining the respect of her peers and fans again…

Now all we have to do is wait for LIZ & DICK, which will premiere Sunday night on Lifetime.
