If you weren’t excited by the rumors of an X-MEN series crossover already, get ready to fall out of your chair.

JoBlo is reporting that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, the original Professor X and Magneto from Bryan Singer’s X-MEN series, have officially signed on to reprise their roles in the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS sequel!

The film, which will also be directed by Singer, is based on an X-Men comic book storyline with the same name in which Kitty Pryde sends her mind back in time to warn the young X-Men about future danger.

No word yet on how large Stewart and McKellen’s roles will be, but just the possibility of seeing the young and old Professor Xs and Magnetos together is enough to blow my mind.  (If you haven’t realized, I love time travel…)

Now the question is will Hugh Jackman (who is rumored to be in talks) and Rebecca Romijn get to have their cameos again as well…?

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is set to hit theaters June 18th, 2014.
