After years of waiting and years of talking, HBO has finally given the green light to an ENTOURAGE movie!
Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the new film will stay completely in the family, with series creator Doug Ellin directing, based on a screenplay he wrote, and executive producer Mark Wahlberg on board as well.
Deals are in the works to bring back series stars Adrian Grenier (Vincent Chase), Kevin Connolly (best friend/manager Eric Murphy), Jerry Ferrara (driver and sneaker lover Turtle), and Kevin Dillon (brother Johnny Drama), and the extraordinary Jeremy Piven (the agent of the century, Ari Gold).
No word on a start date, or where the film will lead fans, but if an interview with Hollyscoop.back in September is any indication, getting back to the grind will be fun:
“[The movie is] going to get back to the basics, kind of like the beginning of the series…We had very strong female characters, but we want the guys to get back to just being guys … I think they were all weighed down by these strong women towards the end of the series, so we are going to get them going crazy. Everyone wants to see them get nuts again.”
And hey, as long as Ari can go crazy just a bit more, I’ll be up for it. (Clip below is NSFW due to language!)
