Justin Bieber Says He’s “Not In The Happiest Place” After Split With Selena Gomez

It seems like no one can escape the grasps of heartbreak…even if that person is the biggest teen star of the decade, Justin Bieber.

In a new interview with Billboard magazine, the Biebs admitted that he is having a bit of a hard time following his split with girlfriend Selena Gomez:

“I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been…I’m trying to get through what I’m going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”

Justin and Selena split late last year over the holidays, but Justin says that all the rumors going around since, including the one about the two singing “Cry Me a River” about each other, were “fake”:

“There’s so many rumors…People say I call Selena every day and she won’t pick up the phone or I’m chasing her down, and these are all fake stories.”

What is true, however, is that Bieber’s new song, “Nothing Like Us”, off his acoustic record “Believe Acoustic”, was written for Gomez.  With lyrics like “You know I’m used to making your day/But that is the past now, we didn’t last now/I guess that this is meant to be yeah/Tell me, was it worth it? We were so perfect”, it’s something that Bieber said people will be able to relate to:

“At the end of the day, there’s nothing like us, you know? That’s just it. It is what it is. People are going to relate to that.”

Ah, young love…such a trying time in a young man’s life…
