Will Daniel Craig Be Back For THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE? Rooney Mara Says Yes
Despite reports last week that Sony was trying to move ahead with a THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO sequel without star Daniel Craig, franchise star Rooney Mara is now saying that the movie can not be made without him.
In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Mara shot down all rumors that THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE could be made without Craig:
“No, that’s not a possibility. That won’t happen…I don’t know who started that rumor, but that’s not true.”
The statement comes on the heels of news that after SKYFALL became a massive hit, Craig is commanding a paycheck that Sony can’t handle. Although back in October, the Bond star said that he would love to step back into the shoes of plays journalist Mikael Blomkvist:
“Of course I’ll embrace [the movie], especially if [David] Fincher does it”
So will we be seeing the second entry in Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy anytime soon? I guess we’ll have to just wait and see what Sony decides…because as of now, it definitely isn’t hanging on the actors.
