James Cameron may be king of the box office in the U.S., but back in London, Bond still reigns king!

NBC News is reporting that the latest Bond adventure, SKYFALL, has officially become the most successful film in British box office history!

Within just 40 days, the film has taken in 94.3 million pounds ($152 million), easily surpassing the 94.0 million pound record set by AVATAR over its entire 11-month UK run.

Globally, however, SKYFALL is still a ways behind the 3D epic…while SKYFALL has already taken in $870 million, AVATAR’s entire box office intake was a whopping $2.8 billion.

And yet, with inflation, it still somehow comes in 14th in cinema history, with GONE WITH THE WIND still easily retaining the number one spot.
