POP CASTING: David Castro Poised To Become The Next Channing Tatum With “Lovin’ Brooklyn” Role
Back in 2006, Channing Tatum began his ascent to superstardom with a starring role in “Step Up.” Now, newcomer David Castro is poised to begin the same trajectory with his upcoming role in the dance film “Lovin’ Brookln.”
Set as a 1970’s teen romance, Castro, who has appeared on screen in “27 Dresses” and “Forged” has been cast as the romantic lead – one of two teenagers struggling for financial independence in Bensonhurst.
Screenwriter/Director Guy Guido has tapped Courtney Galiano (“So You Think You Can Dance,” “Stand Up Guys”) and Raquel Castro (“Jersey Girl,” “The Voice”) for co-starring roles. Comic (and singer herself) Sandra Bernhard is attached to the project.
Production starts in New York this fall.
