We all love the riff queen, Christina Aguilera. We loved feeling like a “genie in a bottle.” We loved getting “dirrty.” We didn’t quite love Burlesque…but we have forgiven her! The latest issue of Paper magazine features the singer unlike we have ever seen her before, practically makeup-free! In the magazine she describes her choice to tone down the look by saying “I’ve always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a storyline and play a character in a video or through stage. I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But I’m at the place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.” The raw music she is hinting at might be something we will hear on her upcoming album, which is set to be released in January 2019.
