Amy Sedaris Brings An Odd Level Of Excitement To Quarantine By Sharing ‘What’s In The Drawer’

I wish I was lucky enough to spend this quarantine At Home With Amy Sedaris.

She’s funny. She’s cooky. She’s the gift you never knew you needed. Of course I am talking about actress, comedian and expert crafter, Amy Sedaris. You probably know her as the star/co-creator of the off-beat, 1999 comedy series Strangers With Candy but Sedaris is so much more than just Jerri Blank. In her new show, At Home With Amy Sedaris on truTV, the native New Yorker combines her comedic chops with her love of crafting to teach viewers how to make some outlandish creations. If you follow Sedaris on social media (which you’d be a fool not to, a fool I say!) you’ll see that unique brand of crafting has trickled into her real life…or maybe it was her unique brand of crafting that blossomed into a tv show…

During this time of quarantine, Sedaris has been posting to her Instagram a series  called “What’s In The Drawer?” where she, you guessed it, shows viewers what’s in a drawer. I don’t know if it is the simple concept, the unusual objects found or the mismatched knobs on the many drawers of the credenza that make these videos so appealing but I find myself eagerly checking her page to catch the latest reveal. Most things found in the drawers are related to crafting but not all of them have a traditional use. In her first reveal, Sedaris notes that the many, miniature tubs of pink paint stored in the drawer are used for painting fake cakes…she has dedicated one whole drawer to just paint…for fake cakes. Instantly. Hooked.

This one takes the cake…paint.

She’s about that bag.

You get it now, right? The unpredictability of each reveal totally helps to jazz up our days, which aren’t exactly most exciting right now. Sedaris is sure to add the #stayhomewithamysedaris to each post which is exactly what we should do…stay home and wait for Amy Sedaris to post more oddly riveting content!
