According to E! Online, a source has confirmed that Katy and Russell have been having “problems” and that they’ve been spending “a lot of time apart.”
That time apart also includes Christmas–Perry was spotted swimming in Hawaii over the holiday weekend, while Brand was reportedly in England.
The source says that things began getting tense in early December and that Katy has been “a mess” about it.
Here’s to hoping that the cute couple can work it out in 2012.
