Deadlocked, Jurors In Nicollette Sheridan Case Are Sent Home

Jururs in the case pitting Nicollette Sheridan against ABC and Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry went home Thursday night unable to reach a decision over whether the actress was fired as a result of an altercation earlier in the year.

Jururs in the case pitting Nicollette Sheridan against ABC and Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry went home Thursday night unable to reach a decision over whether the actress was fired as a result of an altercation.

After a day of deliberation, they sent word to the judge that they had not been able to reach a decision in Sheridan’s wrongful termination claim, as well as to ask for some additional information.

The foreman did not reveal how jurors are split. Nine of the 12 jurors must agree to render a verdict. Earlier in the afternoon, jurors asked the judge to define the word “complaint” for them.

48 year old Sheridan believes she was fired – her character killed off, in retaliation for a complaint she made in accusing Marc Cherry hitting her in the head during a rehearsal – which he said was just a ‘tap.’ She is seeking $5.7 million dollars in damages.
