Melissa Leo’s Oscar Win, F-Bomb

After a controversial campaign where she paid for her own Oscar promotional ads, Melissa Leo, a Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role in the film “The Fighter,” won her Academy Award.

In what was a somewhat klunky acceptance speech, the headline making moment has proven to be an expletive that was seamlessly silenced out by an alert control room techie.

After thanking the actors, she seemed at a loss for words, and then delivered the whopper:

“When I watched Kate (Winslet) 2 years ago, it looked so f***ing easy!”

Co-host Anne Hathaway joked afterwards that she thought the “F” stood for “Fighter,” and referred to this being the ‘younger Demographic’ Academy Awards.

And while the moment was bleeped out on some feeds, still others (including this YouTuber) caught the word in all it’s blue glory. Warning – the full moment is below!
