You may have not thought much of his Golden Globe hosting duties (I, for one, thought he was hysterical, and it was more of a roast than anything else), but Ricky Gervais has some cash behind him!
According to the website Celebrity Net Worth, Gervais is worth $80 Million!
That’s right! Besides hosting the Golden Globes, Gervais, is the creator of the original U.K. version of ‘The Office,’ as well as ‘Extras,’ and gets residuals from every version of the show around the world! In true Gervais fashion, the British funnyman took to his personal blog to talk about his ever-growing back accounts:
“Wow! I think there must be a leak at my accountants…They are of course spot on. I know it sounds a lot, but remember, I donate a lot of this to good causes. (The Inland Revenue mainly.)”
With the number now revealed, Gervais jokes that he will have a few problems:
“Now this is out, I will have to get my family a million scratch cards each for Christmas…I have decided to use the rest of the money to take over Libya. (I know I said I was going to start with Egypt but Karl said it was awful.)”
Gervais was also named as one of Time‘s Most Influential People of 2010. Yes, I’m talking about that guy in the picture up there…
