Corey Feldman is Angry at The Academy for Snubbing Corey Haim

After being omitted from the SAG Awards’ In Memoriam montage in January, Corey Haim was notably missing again Sunday night from the memoriam segment at the 2011 Oscars, and Corey Feldman is rightfully upset.

Feldman told PopEater in a statement that after everything that happened with the SAG Awards, he thought there would be more love from the Academy:

“I am gravely disappointed that the public outcry of the voices of Corey’s supporters and fans on his omission from the SAG memorial was not heard by the Academy. Corey’s films have earned the industry over a half a billion dollars and his work remains an inspiration to young artists world wide.”

“The fact that politics have interfered with his legacy is a clear indication that the people making decisions in these organizations do not have a handle on who the public adores. Corey dedicated his life to the film industry. The same industry that failed to dedicate even 30 seconds to his memory.”

Haim died on March 11, 2010 at the age of 38.  Although the LA County Coroner’s Office said Haim died from a heart condition and complications due to pneumonia, it was widely reported that Haim had died from a drug overdose.

His credits include THE LOST BOYS, LICENSE TO DRIVE, and LUCAS.
