Fox Announces ‘Glee’ Movie! In 3D!

All you Gleeks out there, start jumping up and down for joy, because ‘Glee’ is going to be on the big screen!

Okay, maybe it’s not a full on movie version of the show, but a concert film put together from footage shot during this summer’s ‘Glee Live! In Concert!’ tour. According to a press release from 20th Century Fox,

“The movie will capture the unique concert experience along with special moments involving the characters themselves.”

‘Glee’ co-creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement that the film will allow Gleeks who couldn’t get tickets to a concert to experience the awesomeness firsthand.

“There were only so many cities we could get to…We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate Gleek a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”

The GLEE LIVE! 3D! extravaganza will have a limited time two-week theatrical run beginning Aug. 12.  Until then, just watch one of my favorite clips (and all the others on YouTube) below:
