Will Ferrell may be one of the best loved comedians of our generation, and now, he’s getting recognized for it and will become the 14th recipient of the Mark Twain Prize.
In response to the news, Ferrell responded in classic Ferrell fashion, and released a statement saying,
“I am truly honored to receive this distinction. I will now begin cultivating a Mark Twain-esque moustache in anticipation of the event.”
Ferrell will get the award right on the heels of his “Saturday Night Live” co-star Tina Fey, and join the ranks of comedy royalty such as George Carlin, Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby.
The award will be presented to him on October 23 at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington, D.C.
