Amy Winehouse may have not released anything new as solo artist since “Back to Black”, but shortly before her passing, she did have a chance to work with Tony Bennett on a new song, titled “Body and Soul”.
A preview of the new track, which will be available on Bennett’s new “Duets II” album, has been made available online. What’s even more exhilarating is the video below the song of Tony Bennett giving his view on Winehouse, who he calls his “favorite to perform with”.
Take a listen below to the song and Bennett’s views on the nervous young girl on par with the greats (starts at 2:24), and let us know what you think. Did this show the potential that Winehouse had to get back to her full form, or was it just a blip in the radar of a fading star?
“Duets II” is set to release September 20. Lady Gaga, John Mayer, Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood also duet with the legendary singer on the album.
This girl could really sing. And,to get the chance to sing with Mr. Tony Bennett too. What a dream come true for her.We will be purchasing this as soon as it’s out.So sad her passing was. She could’ve had an amazing career. Her style reminded me of my teen years. The good thing about it is i can get her music and get my husband out and do the east coast swing. That was no blip this girl could sing.
