Succi Lucci Fires Back!

Susan Lucci is going on the record about why she believes All My Children is going off the air - and she's pointing fingers.

Susan Lucci is going on the record about why she believes All My Children is going off the air – and she’s pointing fingers.

In a new epilogue being added to her autobiography “All My Life,” Lucci, who has spent forty years playing Erica Kane, says the blame lies squarely on ABC head of daytime Brian Frons.

Lucci says Frons made “some very bad decisions” that included hiring a head writer in 2008 who resulted in scripts that were “subpar.” She also supports series creator Agnes Nixon, who was pushed out.

The last episode of All My Children will September 23, although there is some talk that it will live online. (That will require some substantial cost cutting to be able to afford producing the show.)

She says that replacing the show with a cheaper chat syndie (it’s being replaced by “The Chew” – which will be like “The View” but for food and cooking show lovers) is taking an iconic show was “losing out to greed.”
