Zsa Zsa Gabor is in critical condition at a Los Angeles hospital this morning after being admitted for emergency surgery over the weekend.
According to E! Online, a tube had detached from Gabor’s stomach Saturday morning, causing internal bleeding and a major temperature spike. Doctors at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center are “guardedly optimistic” that Gabor will recover.
Prince Frederic von Anhalt, Gabor’s husband, told the Los Angeles Times that she has since opened her eyes and squeezed his hand:
“She’s a big fighter…I always feel optimistic because I know her.”
Over the past year, Gabor has been in the hospital for a broken hip and a gangrene infection (that caused her right leg to be amputated), among other things.
