Robert Downey Jr. May Be Playing Geppetto In Tim Burton’s Live-Action PINOCCHIO
First he’s Iron Man. Then, he was supposed to be the Great and Powerful Wizard in Sam Raimi’s OZ. And now, Robert Downey Jr. may be playing the one and only Geppetto.
According to WorstPreviews, Tim Burton is getting serious about making a live-action PINOCCHIO movie, and has already selected Robert Downey Jr as his choice to play the father of the ‘real boy’.
The film, written by “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller, would follow Geppetto on his quest to reunite with his marionette.
The site says that while Downey has expressed interest, it all depends on scheduling. If the studio can get the two together, they’d make sure to fast track the movie to get it done ASAP (possibly also to beat Guillermo Del Toro’s own PINNOCHIO film, which will be a very dark, stop-motion version).
With all that, I ask…Is there anything Downey can’t do?
