Denver Broncos phenom Tim Tebow has passed up an invitation from CBS to be an in-studio analyst for this weekend's AFC Championship Game. An NFL source may indicate at least part of the reason.

Denver Broncos phenom Tim Tebow has passed up an invitation from CBS to be an in-studio analyst for this weekend’s AFC Championship Game. (Pitting the New England Patriots against the Baltimore Ravens.)

CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus announced Tebow’s decision, and voiced confidence in the analyst booth that is already booked.  “Tim Tebow has decided not to appear,” he said, saying he’s “perfectly fine with the (on-air) lineup we have.”

Now that the Denver Broncos’ season is over, Tebow has some recovering to do.

ESPN is reporting that Tebow played through “considerable” pain Saturday vs. the Patriots.

Citing an NFL source, the report says Tebow was injured in the third quarter and suffered torn cartilage in his ribs, a bruised lung and had fluid buildup in his chest. An MRI revealed the injuries.
