The real drama, it seems… is off the set.

The bizarro court case between Nicollete Sheridan and Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry got even more strange when testimony revealed the actor who would be killed off the show. (Producers had tried to keep it a secret all season.) If you don’t wanna know… stop reading now.

Okay… you’re still here? Here we go…

Executive Producer George Perkins let it slip that Mike Delfino, the character played by James Denton, will die in this week’s episode of the show’s final season. He mentioned it while testifying about the liklihood of major characters being killed off over the course of the show’s run.

The whole court case revolvs around Nicolette Sheridan’s claim that Marc Cheery hit her “hard” during a rehearsal. Cherry insists it was a ‘tap’ intended to demonstrate how she should hit someone in a scene she was going to be doing. After Sheridan’s character was killed off a few months later, she sued over the head slap, which may or may not be a case of sour grapes. She’s seeking six million dollars. Good lord, someone rich please tap me on the head hard so I can get on the million dollar bandwagon!

Another little gem from the testimony: Cherry testified that Sheridan once called co-star Teri Hatcher the “meanest woman in the world.” He also noted that despite a six figure salary per episode, Sheridan often had no idea what she was doing, and acted unprofessionally. “I personally witnessed Ms. Sheridan not knowing her lines in the scene,” he said.
