John Mayer Regrets His Kiss/Sleep and Tell Days With Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson

It seems that John Mayer has a few regrets he’d like to get off his chest…

Mayer appeared this past weekend on the NPR show “All Things Considered.” to discuss his new album, and in the process, got on the subject of some scandalous comments he made about ex girlfriends Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson.

During a pair of 2010 interviews he gave to Rolling Stone and Playboy, Mayer had said that he had “never really gotten over” his split with Aniston, and that Simpson was “like crack cocaine to me. Sexually it was crazy…That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm.”

Now, Mayer is walking back those comments, admitting that he was saying anything he could think of because he didn’t want to be boring:

“I had nothing to say…I was going through a time in my life where I didn’t really want to share what was going on, but I didn’t want to be boring…When you’re just open, but not honest, then you start free-associating garbage. It doesn’t mean I can go back and scrub it out, but I understand it now.”

I know a lot of people who lost interest in Mayer after those comments were made.  So you tell us…with his comments in the NPR interview and the lyrics from his new song “Shadow Days”, do you think he is turning over a new leaf?

Mayer’s new album “Born and Raised,” is out in stores now.
