WorstPreviews is reporting that Jim Carrey has signed on to play Colonel Stars in the upcoming KICK ASS 2. Director Jeff Wadlow confirmed the news on Twitter today, writing:
“6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then.”
Wadlow doesn’t exactly mention Carrey by name, but using one of his most famous lines from ACE VENTURA with “Alrighty f’n then” seems like a pretty definite hint to me!
For those of you not familiar with the world of KICK ASS, Colonel Stars is a military-type superhero who puts together a team of misfit superheroes, called Justice Forever, with the intent to fight evil.
KICK ASS 2 is set to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.
