Man Dressed In Batman Costume Arrested Twice For Interfering With A Police Investigation!
Alex Trebek: “No, you are not”
That SNL skit is the first thing that comes to mind with this ridiculous story of one man who really needs a day job…
33-year-old Mark Wayne Williams (NOT pictured here) has a Batman costume. He likes this Batman costume so much that he would stand on rooftops dressed in it while carrying a baton, chemical spray, and sand filled gloves. Soon, his attempts to “help” police fight crime led to an arrest on charges of obstructing police in an investigation, where he was found guilty and sentenced to six months probation. (He was also told to stop wearing costumes.)
Well, it turns out that the Michigan native was recently back to his old tricks. When Michigan police responded to an accident in which a driver left the scene, they found Williams there waiting for them. An officer explains:
“When we arrived, [Williams] was at the scene in his Batman outfit…He wouldn’t clear the scene, and we had a canine out there and he kept screwing up the scent…[Williams] said he wanted to help us look for the driver, [but] we didn’t want the dog to track Batman instead of the [driver]. He was getting in the way of officers who had a job to do.”
Williams was arrested yet again and received yet another six month probation.
And I (and hopefully, you as well…) just can’t stop laughing and thinking about this wonderfully classic line:
