Whaa?! SUPER TROOPERS Director To Re-Write YOGI BEAR 2 For Warner Bros

Well this is an interesting choice…

Worst Previews is reporting that Warner Bros has hired Jay Chandrasekhar, the writer and director of SUPER TROOPERS, to rewrite and direct their YOGI BEAR 2. 

Chandrasekhar has a long directing history, including all of the Broken Lizard films, and a number of television episodes spanning “Chuck”, “Royal Pains”, “Psych” and “Community”, among others, so there is no doubt that he is a capable choice, but to hear that the same guy who created SUPER TROOPERS is going to bring us Yogi and Boo Boo?!  It’s just wrong.

No word on whether any of the original voice cast (Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake, Anna Faris, etc) will return, but if not, I say just rewrite the whole thing as the next Broken Lizard movie.  It’ll definitely be a hell of a lot more entertaining!
