A Rumor May Have Gotten Mark Wahlberg The Lead in TRANSFORMERS 4
A few weeks ago there was an internet rumor that Mark Wahlberg was being looked at for a leading role in the fourth TRANSFORMERS film. It was completely laughed off by director Michael Bay. Yet now, in a funny turn of events, that rumor may have actually gotten Bay to cast his PAIN AND GAIN star!
Bay and Paramount Pictures made a formal announcement over the weekend about the casting, saying,
“Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on ‘Pain and Gain’ and I’m so fired up to be back working with him…An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the ‘Transformers’ legacy.“
While it is still completely unclear what Wahlberg’s role is, Bay recently gave TMZ a few new details about the film, saying,
“The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie…It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.”
TRANSFORMERS 4 will begin shooting next Spring, and you will be able to take in all the crazy alien-robot/Marky Mark saving the world action on June 27th, 2013.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Michael Bay’s mega-budget sci-fi adventure lives up to its “more than meets the eye”
fame as it ranks 2nd with 9,259,894 DVDs sold after a last quarter of the year release on
October 2009. It does not take long for him to expect that
he may have a transformer on his hands and it take even less time for government agents to show up on his lawn.
In a reboot of sorts that still takes place after the first three films, Bay introduces a lot of new characters in ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction,’ both human and robot
alike.
