At a time when people are searching for hope and comfort, it’s not surprising this video of fifth graders singing a song of hope (taken back in May) is capturing people’s hearts online right now.

It’s not a production number, or even sung in perfect pitch. What it is, is a group of Kansas City kids singing “One Day,” an inspiring song by hasidic reggae rapper Matisyahu. But something about it, the innocence, and the idea of kids enjoying a day at school just resonates so much right now… and it’s surging in traffic online.

It was originally posted by Alex Gamble, a 4th grade teacher in the inner-city.  He wrote at the time: “I’m used to noise. But today, I heard singing next door and managed to catch an inspiring moment on video.” And this is what he captured.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Newtown CT, and to people all around the world searching for comfort and peace.
