BUZZWORTHY: First Looks Of Matt Groening’s ‘Disenchantment’ On Netflix

Simpsons and I are the same age. The hit, animated series just wrapped it’s 29th season, finally breaking the record as the longest running primetime series in television history. The show has is also the recipient of 31 Primetime Emmys, earned a star on the walk of fame, and was named the “20th century’s best television program” by Time magazine. Whatever…I’ve done stuff in my 29 years too…..Well if Groening’s history serves as any indicator, then his new series, Disenchantment, is going to be a big hit.

The new, animated series tells the story of the boozin’ Princess Bean, who resides in the run-down kingdom of Dreamland. Helping (or hurting) on her misadventures is her trusty sidekick Elfo, the elf and her own personal demon, Luci. With each passing adventure the trio will encounter everything from sprites to ogres, and plenty of plain old human fools in between. Netflix has picked up the series for two seasons and just confirmed the show’s premiere date of August 17th. No trailer has been released just yet, but Netflix has revealed some first looks. Take a look at the images below, and stay tuned for more updates!
