The 2018 Emmys might have been described as uneventful – until Emmy winner Glenn Weiss (who won for directing the Oscars) turned the night on its ear with a heartwarming story and a shocking proposal.
Weiss, who recently lost his mother, tore at our hearts before he suddenly changed the subject to his girlfriend Jan Svendsen.
“Do you know why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend?” Weiss said. “Because I want to call you my wife.”
The crowd roared. Our hearts melted. Clearly, Weiss knows a little about how to make an awards ceremony special.
