Yes, you read it all completely right up above.  But if you’re confused, here is the explanation:

Alex Pettyfer has been chosen to star in Steven Soderbergh’s MAGIC MIKE.  But this movie isn’t any movie…it was actually pitched to Soderbergh by Channing Tatum as a movie about Tatum’s own career as an exotic dancer.    Pettyfer will play a young Channing Tatum, and Tatum will play the mentor to Pettyfer (in reality, the mentor to himself…)

Deadline has the official synopsis as “the story of a friendship set in the world of male strippers. Tatum plays the title character, who schools a young dancer (Pettyfer) in how to hustle on and off the stage.”

Hustle on and off stage…some craft learning as well as some real life lessons to throw in?  Wouldn’t have it any other way…

I don’t know how this movie is going to come out, but in the end, I guess we all gotta shake our heads and just wait for the moment to come.  Either that, or watch the video below of Tatum talking about his stripper days on Ellen. (And don’t worry…the link to the actual stripper video is below it, but beware…it’s NSFW…)
