This looks like a simultaneously hysterical and fascinating documentary. And judging from all those film festival award icons at the end of the preview, a lot of folks agree with me.
“Exporting Raymond” is the story of how Phil Rosenthal, the creator of the hit sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” was asked to bring the show to Russia. Not the reruns of the old show, but create a new version, just for Russia. You’ll meet the stoic, terrifying, expressionless head of the Russian network’s comedy department, (who, although he brought the show over, claims that it’s ‘not funny,’ and see what looks like the TV studio from hell.
