Banksy Replies to His Oscar Loss Through Art

I think everyone was waiting for EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP to win at the Oscars, if for anything to see what Banksy would have done (and if we would have seen who he finally was).  Alas, that sadly did not happen, and after putting up a bunch of art around LA leading up to the Oscars, he kind of disappeared.

But today the artist seems to have finally posted a response to the Oscars. The piece appears not in Los Angeles or Hollywood, but back in Banksy’s backyard — Weston, UK.

You could interpret it anyway you want, but in any case, it’s still an awesome commentary of the worth of such an award.

The painting also seems to reference 15-month old Lara, who dropped and damaged her father The King’s Speech co-producer Simon Egan’s Oscar statue. Cringe with the video below.
