Faye Dunaway Facing Eviction, Being Sneaky About Her Rent Controlled NYC Apartment.
Let’s face it. Actress Faye Dunaway is more than likely not exactly broke. So why is she allegedly lying to keep a rent controlled apartment? Because she loves a bargain!
Dunaway has a one bedroom place in a walkup on East 78th street (A walkup!) that she’s called her New York home since 1994. Thanks to rent control, she pays a mere $1,048 a month. (A New Yorker will tell you that’s not too shabby… withiout the rent stabilization it would go for $2,300.
Which coast does Dunaway call home?
Her landlord wants her out, claiming The Bonnie and Clyde and Mommie Dearest star should not be eligible for rent regulation as state laws require the tenant to use that property as their primary home.
Dunaway is a registered voter and car owner in Los Angeles. (West Hollywood, to be precise.) And methinks if Dunaway was in New York full time, she’s be staying in something bigger than a one-bedroom. The photo at left shows her place in West Hollywood, photographed in 2007. It’s a two bedroom. ahem. (disclaimer: this may no longer be her place… this could be form an inaccurate, dated real estate report)
She is set to appear in Civil Court for a hearing on August 11th.
