NYC’s Office Of Emergency Management Is Here To Help. With Purel And A Pen.

Remember how NYC was almost obliterated by the hurricane? Thankfully it wasn't. But in case you weren't so prepared, here's what NYC's Office Of Emergency Management is handing out to make sure you're safe next time... are you ready? Three pamphlets, a pen, and a teeny tiny bottle of purel.

Remember how NYC was almost obliterated by the hurricane? Thankfully it wasn’t.  But in case you weren’t so prepared, here’s what NYC’s Office Of Emergency Management is handing out to make sure you’re safe next time… are you ready? Three pamphlets, a pen, and a teeny tiny bottle of purel. Who doesn’t love a SWAG bag? I’m quite certain we’ll be seeing these items at the next Emmy Awards celebrity suite.

I understand the pamphlets. They tell you what you need to know. (I could have used that Evacuation zone map a week ago, thanksalot.) Still, they could have saved some paper and put all that repetitive info in one, not three.

The pen? Um, okay. I suppose I will need to write down my ‘to-do’ list for the next storm:

1) Panic! Wait…Don’t panic.

2) Get groceries.

3) Try and remember where I put my preparedness pamphlets.

Finally, the tiny bottle of Purel? Because flood waters are gross and filled with all sorts of crap. (Sometimes literally.) You’ll need a tiny bottle of Purel to sanitize those small areas you care most about. (Also, remind me why I never bought stock in Purel again?)

Hey! Follow me on twitter. Then you’ll know how the sanitizer is working out. @BrianBalthazar

  • Hello there!

I found it pretty smart that they handed out those kits. It is a clever way to alert people. I was wondering if I can order 20 of those (shipped to Greece)pay for all the costs. I give seminars for emergency and crisis management and would like to hand out those kits to my audience, as an example. Thank you in advance for your response
