Nicki Minaj may be one of the gutsiest performers in the business today, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her insecurities, including wrestling with some very dark times.
In the November issue of Cosmopolitan, the singer/rapper says that at one point, she felt like nothing was going to work out:
“I kept having doors slammed on my face…I felt like nothing was working. I had moved out on my own, and here I was thinking I’d have to go home. It was one dead end after another.”
It became so bad, that Minaj actually thought about possibly killing herself:
“At one point, I was, like, ‘What would happen if I just didn’t wake up?’ That’s how I felt. Like maybe I should just take my life?”
Now that things are going her way, however, Minaj says that she has a lot of plans for a very successful career. What’s on the list, you ask?
“I will have put out five albums and will have an Oscar and Grammys…And I will be getting married and, a couple of years after that will have a bun in the oven. … My whole life is about being Nicki Minaj now. It’s a never-ending saga.”
Let’s hope for the best!
