Whether or not you watch Glee, you should check out this standout medley from Tuesday night’s show. Two of the show’s emerging breakout stars performed a mashup of Adele’s Rumour Has It and Someone Like You with both emotional depth and incredible vocals. It soared to the top of the iTunes chart within a day after it aired.

The two voices behind the powerful performance are Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Naya Rivera (Santana) who have both gained tremendous, much deserved momentum on the show after far too many episodes where their emotional and vocal range were under appreciated in favor of other characters. Whether the growing depth of their story arcs and performances was a planned character evolution or something else, the viewer wins. It seems impossible to believe that two women with this kind of talent could be allowed to slip through the cracks. And it seems iTunes users would agree. Three cheers for seeing talented people get an amazing forum to showcase it!
