Sasha Grey, the Ex-Porn Star, In a Bit of Trouble for Reading to a Class of First and Third Graders
The Los Angeles Parent-Teacher Association is in a bit of a bind today, after coming under fire from parents for allowing a former adult film star to read to their children in class.
According to AccessHollywood, ex-porn star Sasha Grey was brought in to Compton’s Emerson Elementary School for Read Across America Day. She spent the day reading to students in the first and third grades.
After the reading, tweets from parents were all over the internet expressing dissatisfaction. KTLA-TV quoted some parents questioning whether it was appropriate to have Grey at the school at all.
On one side, I completely understand having someone in such a field come in to be a role model for children. On the other side, Grey has not appeared in porn films in over two years, and has instead tried to hone a real acting career with a guest spot on “Entourage” and a starring role in the 2009 Steven Soderbergh film, THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE.
